Students in Henderson County learn Spanish as part of dual-language program

Henderson County, N.C. -- Summer break is over for students at two Henderson County schools on year-round schedules. Monday marked the return for students at both Hendersonville and Bruce Drysdale Elementary Schools.

At Bruce Drysdale, a teacher in a first grade dual-language classroom reads to them in Spanish and they respond in Spanish.

It's the first school in Henderson County to have the program, and in a few years, Principal BJ Laughter says each grade will have two dual-language teachers.
