Kindergartners can learn a second language in Humble ISD

The Humble Independent School District Dual Language Program will host meetings to highlight the benefits of giving children the gift of a second language.Parents of children starting kindergarten in Humble ISD for the 2016-2017 school year are invited to attend on Thursday, March 3 at 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. or on Thursday, March 10 at 8 a.m. at Humble Elementary School, 20252 Fieldtree Drive.

There will be refreshments, door prizes and free child care for the 6 p.m. meeting only.

The Dual Language Program teaches Spanish and English to native and non-native speakers of English in a mixed group setting through literacy in the core content areas and adheres to the 50/50 model, which provides 50 percent of instruction in Spanish and 50 percent of instruction in English.
